Outdoor Living with PortStone
PortStone works just as well for outdoor use as it does for interior use. PortStone can be installed over any sound concrete surface. The porches, patios and pool decks seen here were just plain concrete before PortStone was installed. Give your old concrete a totally new look and make your outdoor areas much more enjoyable with PortStone Thin Brick!

PortStone Thin Brick was used here to create a "brick" cooking center. A wooden frame was built first, then it was covered with exterior grade plywood and a cement backerboard and PortStone was installed over that. PortStone weighs only about 3 pounds per square foot, so this wooden deck easily supports the weight. This would be impractical, if not impossible with regular bricks.
This photo shows the deep texture of our Rose Hill blend very well. All PortStone's thin brick products are only about 1/4" thick, but as you can see here, they have the look and feel of thick, full sized bricks. Notice how our Corner Bricks wrap the corners of the outdoor cooking center on this wooded deck above.

The photo above show PortStone installed not only on the floor of this covered patio, but also on the wall to the right. In this case, PortStone Thin Brick was installed over a concrete block wall. Just as a side note, the wood siding and the wooden beams you see here was recycled from part of a house that was built around 150 years ago.

Use PortStone Thin Brick to make your sunroom much more enjoyable than plain concrete floors. Using regular bricks, the herringbone pattern is very tricky and time consuming to lay. But our herringbone pattern installs in sheets, or panels, of 16 thin polymer concrete bricks per sheet. You're covering 3.75 sq. ft. with each panel you lay. PortStone is always pre-sealed at the factory, so you can be finished and enjoying living our your new PortStone floor days or even weeks before a regular brick floor can be finished.

The border bricks seen in this photo are our Nose Brick pattern. Nose Brick is made to use as a turn-down on concrete edges, giving the appearance of full thickness bricks. It comes in strips containing 8 bricks and measures 2' 9" long. The turn-down is approximately 2 1/4". This can be use to dress up patio and porch edges or on steps.
Note the wood inlay PortStone thin brick floor seen through the door opening on the foyer floor.
